Did you know ...

The Melksham Community Area has a population of 24,000.

Let's make a difference

Welcome to the website of your Melksham Community Area Partnership.

Set up to represent the community, one of our key aims is to keep in regular communication with people in the area, ensuring that you know what we are up to, and that we keep open the channels to gather opinions, identify your issues and make sure that you are represented to Wiltshire Council.

We are always open to new groups and individuals who wish to join the Partnership, and we look forward to working together with you.

The theme groups within the Community Area Partnership, will encompass the interests of the whole Community Area and be influential in updates to the Community Plan.

What is the Melksham Community Area Partnership?

Community Area Partnerships are independent groups set up to involve communities in their own development.

Everyone who works, lives or has a genuine interest in the Melksham Community Area is considered a member and the parishes included are shown here.

Our Partnership is made up of representatives from business, the community, the Council and statutory bodies who come together to share ideas and policies to make Melksham and its surrounding villages a better place to live.

We are committed to creating a Community Plan for the area, which, together with regular feedback from consultations, will influence Wiltshire Council’s plans for development in this area over the coming years.

Consulting on Wilts and Berks Canal

Proposed Wilts and Berks Canal Restoration

The Wilts & Berks Canal Partnership is proposing a new stretch of the canal, the Melksham Link, to connect Melksham with the Kennet & Avon canal as part of the overall Wilts & Berks restoration. As the project could have a significant impact on the area, particularly Melksham, Berryfields and Semington, as well as villages further afield, the Community Area Partnership is keen to get opinions on the proposals. Click on the above picture for information on the consultation.

We want your views!

As a group who is set up to represent the community, we are always keen to hear your views on anything to do with the development of your community. Our twelve themes are set up to address specific issues. Opinions collected will go into the Community Plan, which will be referred to for development of the area, which includes the town of Melksham and its surrounding 10 parishes.
